Greenhill Fishery is a privately run day ticket venue set on a working farm just outside Dalbeattie on the A710 Coast Road in Dumfries and Galloway. Surrounded by open farmland and mature woodland, the site offers three well-managed ponds covering coarse, fly and bait fishing for trout — making it one of the more varied small fisheries in the region. The Lily Pad Pool is the coarse water, holding a strong head of Mirror and Common Carp, Tench, Crucian Carp, F1s and Rudd across well-maintained swims with clear water and good access throughout. The Quarry Pool is a catch-and-release fly water stocked with brown and rainbow trout, suited to experienced fly anglers. The Island Pool offers bait fishing for rainbow trout and is well suited to beginners and younger anglers fishing with family. On-site facilities include a fishery office stocking Dynamite Baits pellets, boilies, groundbait and sweetcorn, trout pastes and pellets, a selection of wet and dry flies, and a limited range of Drennan and ESP terminal tackle. Tackle hire is available across all three ponds. Tuition is offered for those new to the sport. Glamping pods and cabins are available on site for overnight stays and short breaks. All sessions must be pre-booked by phone or text.
