Woodland Lakes Fishery is Yorkshire's premier fishing destination, offering award-winning coarse fishing across 11 expertly managed lakes spanning 45 acres of stunning North Yorkshire countryside. Located in Carlton Miniott near Thirsk, the fishery is easily accessible from the A19 and A168, making it ideal for anglers traveling from Leeds, York, Middlesbrough, Northallerton, and throughout Yorkshire and the North of England. The fishery features exceptional stocks of mirror carp, common carp, tench, bream, roach, rudd, perch, barbel, golden orfe, and catfish, catering to pleasure anglers, specimen hunters, fishing clubs, and competitive match anglers. Three dedicated specimen lakes offer night fishing opportunities: The Kingfisher, The Catfish Lake, and The Zoo, providing anglers with the chance to target Yorkshire's biggest fish in a premium environment. All night fishing is strictly pre-book only with an online booking system. Facilities include an on-site tackle shop run by experienced fishermen Jimmy and Craig Kent, the highly rated Watermill Bar & Grill serving hot food and takeouts (open noon-11pm with Sunday carvery 12pm-6pm), a café serving traditional breakfast from 8am, and Harvey's Sports Bar with pool tables and widescreen TVs. Well-behaved dogs are welcome on leads. The fishery operates a mandatory fishery bait policy to ensure fish welfare, with all boilies and particles supplied by Woodlands Tackle, though anglers may use their own hookbaits.

Tactics & Tips

Barbless hooks only. 2 rod limit maximum. No braided reel lines allowed. Minimum 42 inch landing net required. Bivvies only, no tents permitted. Anglers must use fishery bait exclusively - all boilies and particles must be supplied by Woodlands Tackle. Own hookbaits allowed (fishery boilies and pellets only). No floating baits. Rods must not be left unattended. Fish by booking only. No entering water under any circumstances. No boats of any kind. Current EA rod licence and fish care kit mandatory. At least 1 unhooking mat per peg required. Report any fish over 25lb with pictures if possible.
