About

Marsh Canal is one of the most established and well-sheltered waters at Partridge Lakes, offering anglers a traditional canal-style fishing experience with 22 well-spaced pegs. Measuring between 11 and 14 metres wide and reaching depths of up to 6ft, the lake provides excellent conditions for pole fishing and remains a favourite among both pleasure anglers and match competitors throughout the year. Its convenient location near the car park and easy-access pegs make it one of the most popular and accessible waters on the complex. The canal holds an impressive variety of species including Golden Tench, Common and Mirror Carp, F1s, Barbel, Bream, Perch, Roach, and Rudd. Marsh is particularly well known for its prolific F1 sport, with fish running to 4lb and larger specimens exceeding that, while Commons and Mirrors can reach up to 15lb. During the warmer months, anglers regularly target bigger carp tight to the far bank and in the margins, making Marsh a versatile venue capable of producing both large mixed catches and quality specimen fish. Widely regarded as one of the best match canals in Cheshire, Marsh Canal fishes consistently in all seasons and rewards a range of approaches. Popular tactics include pinging maggots or casters shallow across to cover for F1s, fishing pellets in mid-depth water for carp and larger F1s, and targeting the margins with pellets or corn for bonus carp later in the session. Whether you are looking for a competitive match water or a productive day-ticket venue, Marsh Canal offers reliable sport and an enjoyable fishing experience for anglers of all abilities.
