Gwen's Lake is the newest addition to the Newhay Lakes complex and is named after the owner's late mother. Purpose built and designed for the match angler, the lake has been stocked with over 18,000 fish including carp, tench, roach, rudd, ide, chub, bream and perch, all present in significant numbers. With 23 accessible pegs spread around the water, it provides consistent and competitive sport for match anglers of all abilities. The lake is available for individual day sessions as well as club match hire — angling clubs wishing to book the lake exclusively for a match event should contact the fishery directly. Keepnets are provided by Newhay Lakes and must be used for all matches. The lake is available to all members regardless of membership tier. Barbless hooks only to a maximum size 10. No bait boats. Groundbait and sweetcorn in feeders or pole cups only — not by hand. No nuts or tiger nuts, no cat food. Landing nets and unhooking mats must be used when carp fishing. No tents — bivvies and brollies only. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
