Heron Pool is a 2-acre mixed coarse lake designed for the angler looking to relax, unwind and enjoy a leisurely day's fishing in a beautiful lakeside setting. A truly varied water, Heron Pool holds a mix of ide, bream, tench, barbel, ghost carp, perch, crucian carp, chub, roach, gudgeon and carp into double figures, ensuring consistent sport across the session whatever approach is taken. All permanent pegs are wheelchair accessible with gravelled pathways and tackle drop-off zones throughout. Water quality on Heron Pool is actively managed to the highest standard — oxygen levels are checked daily and nitrate and ammonia levels are monitored weekly to support the natural growth and health of the stock. Three luxury lodges are situated directly on the banks of Heron Pool, all hanging over the water and offering direct fishing from the decking, making it an outstanding option for lodge guests who want to fish without leaving their accommodation. The sunsets from this pool are particularly noted by guests as one of the highlights of a stay. Day fishing is available on a first come, first served basis with no peg reservations. No keepnets are permitted on Heron Pool. Caistor Lakes house pellets must be used. Open daily from 8am — October to March closing at 4pm, April to September closing at 5pm.
