Meadow Lake is the largest and most prolific water in the Mirror Pool Fisheries complex, spanning 10 acres and nestled in the folds of the surrounding hills in the Limousin countryside, overlooked only by a solitary farmhouse. Purchased in 2000 with the ambition of creating a truly prolific big carp destination, the lake has exceeded all expectations in terms of both stock quality and growth rates. With over 190 big carp stocked over the years — in addition to existing stock — and individual anglers recording catches of more than twenty carp in a single week, Meadow Lake delivers arm-aching action alongside genuine specimen quality in a beautiful and completely private setting. The stock has shown exceptional growth rates, with individual fish gaining up to 9lb of weight in a single year. Over half the stock now exceeds 40lb, with fifteen to twenty fish over 50lb and the current lake record standing at 67lb. The average weight across the lake is 33lb, and the 190-plus carp present mean that action is rarely far away regardless of conditions. The winter of 2014 saw a further fifty carp added from 26lb to over 30lb, further boosting the already impressive head of fish. A maximum of six anglers fish the water per week, providing enormous scope to move swims, go stalking, or simply spread out without feeling hemmed in by other rods. On-site facilities include shower, toilet and kitchen, providing everything needed for a comfortable week-long stay on the banks. As with all Mirror Pool Fisheries venues, vehicles are parked close to the swims and an English bailiff is on site throughout the season. The same strict rules apply as across the complex — three rod limit, barbless hooks, minimum 15lb line, no leadcore, rig tubing only, no nuts or seeds except sweetcorn, unhooking mats compulsory, and all fish over 45lb to be photographed in the lake. Bait boats are permitted provided they do not interfere with other anglers. Only Korda Goo products are permitted as attractants on this water.

Weekly sessions Saturday 3pm to Saturday 12 noon. £330 per person per week, maximum 6 anglers. Lake exclusive £1,980. Non-fishing guests £50 each.
