The New Match Lake was formed in spring 2002 by joining two former trout growing ponds into a single 26-peg coarse lake. It is the primary match venue at White Springs and is well suited to beginners and experienced match anglers alike. The lake's shape and nature make it particularly popular with pole anglers, though any method typically produces results. Match weights consistently exceed 100–150lb, making it one of the more prolific commercial-style match venues in South Wales. The lake is stocked with carp, perch, roach and chub, providing a varied and active catch for those targeting a net of fish. It is an ideal starting point for newer anglers looking to build confidence and technique in a well-managed, accessible environment. All swims are accessible via gravel paths with car parking directly adjacent. A maximum of 1 rod applies on this lake. No alarms are permitted. Barbless hooks only to a maximum size 10. Day ticket and 24-hour sessions are available at the standard Pleasure/Match/Canal pricing.
