The Pleasure Lake is a multi-pegged water with capacity for up to 30 anglers, suitable for all abilities from juniors to experienced pleasure and match anglers. Originally constructed in 1988/89 as a trout lake and converted to coarse fishing in 2002, the lake has an unusual shape with varied depths that provide a different challenge from every peg. Float, ledger, feeder and pole methods all produce well, with some pegs particularly well suited to the pole angler. In 2019 the banks were redesigned to create a shelf near the edge, improving the fishing environment throughout. The lake is stocked with carp, tench, bream, roach, perch, koi, golden orfe and blue orfe. It is very popular with match anglers as well as pleasure anglers seeking a relaxed day's fishing with consistent sport. Fish can be taken from the top or bottom of the water across a range of methods. Pellets and maggots from the on-site tackle shop are recommended by the bailiffs for anglers targeting a good catch. Access is straightforward for disabled anglers and OAPs, with car parking available within a few feet of the water's edge on a number of swims. Overnight fishing is available. A lakeside cabin is available for hire on peg 3, complete with electricity, light, microwave, fridge and table and chairs. Camping is also permitted alongside fishing sessions. A maximum of 2 rods applies, barbless hooks only to a maximum size 10.
